Residents and team members from Givens Aldersgate proudly joined thousands of community members for the 2026 Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade, continuing a cherished tradition of celebrating love, belonging, and inclusion.
Held August 15-16 in Uptown Charlotte, Charlotte Pride attracted an estimated 250,000 attendees over the two-day festival and parade. As a proud sponsor of the annual event, Givens Communities was honored to once again participate in one of the region’s largest celebrations of the LGBTQ+ community.
Residents and staff rode together on a Pride-decorated bus and walked in the parade carrying a Givens Aldersgate banner while proudly wearing colorful Pride T-shirts. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community, celebrate diversity, and share in the joy and excitement that filled the streets of Charlotte.
The parade route along Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte showcased the spirit of unity and acceptance that defines Charlotte Pride. Festival activities in and around First Ward Park featured national, regional, and local entertainers, musicians, art exhibits, nonprofit organizations, retailers, and food vendors, creating an engaging and welcoming atmosphere for all.
Participation in Charlotte Pride reflects Givens Communities’ ongoing commitment to fostering environments where every person feels valued, respected, and empowered to be their authentic self. The annual event celebrates the diverse identities and experiences of residents, team members, families, and neighbors while reinforcing the importance of community and belonging.
For Givens Aldersgate residents and staff, participating in Charlotte Pride has become a meaningful tradition year after year. Walking together in the parade and sharing the experience with hundreds of thousands of attendees was a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from embracing one another and celebrating what makes each person unique.
