Givens Communities residents and community members are preparing for another exciting season of music as the Asheville Symphony launches its 2026-2027 concert lineup, featuring world-class performances, innovative programming, and beloved community traditions. As a proud presenting sponsor of the Asheville Symphony, Givens Communities is honored to strengthen its longstanding partnership with the organization through the newly named Givens Communities Masterworks Series, reflecting a shared commitment to enriching lives through exceptional musical experiences. The season begins on September 26 with Masterworks 1: Fellowship, the first performance in the Givens Communities Masterworks Series. The opening concert celebrates the power of creative kinship, community, and collaboration through a compelling program featuring Brahms’ First Piano Concerto and Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. As presenting sponsor of the series, Givens Communities is proud to support performances that bring audiences together through the transformative power of music.
Music lovers can also look forward to the return of the wildly popular ALT ASO series on October 6, when Balkan Brass Meets NOLA takes the stage at Pisgah Brewing Company in Black Mountain. Inspired by the vibrant energy of Balkan brass bands and New Orleans street music, the genre-crossing performance will feature audience favorites such as Bourbon St. Parade, When the Saints Go Marching In, and more.
The Givens Communities Masterworks Series continues on October 17 with Masterworks 2: Nightfall. The concert will showcase acclaimed bassist Joseph Conyers performing Tan Dun’s Contrabass Concerto: Wolf Totem. Best known to many audiences for his Academy Award-winning score for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Tan Dun brings his signature cinematic intensity to a captivating program that also includes Anna Clyne’s This Midnight Hour and Jean Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5. Through its partnership with the Asheville Symphony, Givens Communities is proud to help bring celebrated artists and inspiring performances to Western North Carolina audiences.
The Asheville Symphony’s 2026-2027 season offers an impressive range of performances, including additional Masterworks concerts, special genre-crossing events, and an expanded ALT ASO series featuring five innovative concerts at venues throughout the region.
