At Givens Aldersgate in Charlotte, a Tree of Hope
Every December, the Winter Garden lobby at Givens Aldersgate transforms into a glowing forest of angels. Each wooden ornament, carefully hung on the Guardian Angel Tree, carries a name, a dedication in honor or memory of someone cherished.
More than decorations, these are lifelines.
The Guardian Angel Fund began with a simple idea: No resident should face hardship alone. Life can bring unexpected challenges such as medical bills, sudden expenses, or financial strain, and for seniors, these moments can feel overwhelming. The fund steps in quietly, offering dignity and peace of mind when it matters most.
This initiative is made possible by the Philanthropy Committee at Givens Aldersgate, a resident-led group that organizes and raises money for the Guardian Angel Fund. Their commitment ensures that the spirit of generosity thrives within the community, creating a safety net for neighbors in need.
Each angel represents a gift of compassion. It means a resident can stay in their home, receive care, and feel secure. It means Givens Aldersgate community remains a place of belonging, even in difficult times.
As the tree-lighting ceremony fills the room with warmth and music, donors see their angels shining, a symbol of generosity and love. Together, these angels tell a story of hope, reminding everyone that at Aldersgate, no one stands alone.
