Givens Communities Celebrates Excellence in 2026 Newsweek Rankings of Continuing Care Retirement Communities

Newsweek has published its third annual rankings of continuing care retirement communities (CCRC) and Givens Communities can count its campuses among the very best.

Rankings can be a factor to consider in choosing retirement living

Continuing care retirement communities, also known as Life Plan Communities, provide long-term options for residents typically aged 55 and older who can transition from independent living into higher levels of care, including assisted living, skilled nursing care or memory care, all at the same location. There are some 1,900 CCRCs in America and more than 60 in North Carolina.

“To achieve the highest marks from an independent analysis is a testimonial to each and every person connected to Givens Communities, from our residents and their families to our team members and our Board of Directors,” says Kevin Schwab, President and CEO of Givens Communities. “Although we are well known for amenities, services, care and safety and social engagement, it is our mission-driven culture and the collective care of all members of our communities that consistently places Givens in top-rankings. We are proud of this achievement and will continue to strive to create vibrant communities for older adults.”

Newsweek partners with global research firm Statista to evaluate scores based on rigorous criteria and are widely recognized as a trusted benchmark for quality that can serve as an important resource for seniors to make informed decisions when choosing a retirement community.
