Senior Living Community Charts Future with New Name
A Charlotte life plan community will now be known as Givens Aldersgate, following the successful affiliation with Givens Communities, a nationally respected senior living organization.
The decision to update the name was made after careful consideration and has historic precedent, said Kevin Schwab, President and CEO of Asheville-based Givens Communities.

“Givens Aldersgate reflects both a sense of consistency and the added strength that will be provided for this campus,” Schwab said. “Givens Communities is an over-arching, multi-faceted nonprofit and easily lends ‘Givens’ namesake as mindful branding.”
Also, the household-centered care service offered on campus and in neighborhoods throughout Charlotte will be titled Givens Aldersgate at Home.
Rebranding efforts will be phased in progressively.
“This modification of our name marks an exciting new chapter for our community, as we enhance the senior living services we provide,” said Ken Kramer, executive director of Givens Aldersgate. “This is another step forward together under the Givens Communities banner as desirable destinations for today and tomorrow’s older adults.”

Givens Aldersgate and Givens Aldersgate at Home join with Givens Estates in Asheville, Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain, and affordable living communities Givens Great Laurels in Waynesville and Givens Gerber Park in south Asheville, as well as the home care and aging in place programs of Givens Home First and Givens Choice, all as part of the Givens Communities reputation for quality and innovation.
