Mark Massar, a maintenance technician at Givens Estates, has been recognized with the 2026 Service Excellence Award by LeadingAge North Carolina.

Selected as one of only five frontline employees out of more than 22,000 candidates, this honor reflects his dedication and care he brings to the Asheville campus every day.

The award was presented by Tom Akins, CEO of LeadingAge North Carolina, during a visit to Givens Estates. He reflected that Mark is a trusted team member of Givens Estates who upholds the core values of Givens Communities.

LeadingAge North Carolina is an association of over 65 retirement communities across the state, including Life Plan Communities and affordable housing providers. Through advocacy, education, innovation and collaboration, this nonprofit membership organization provides expanded possibilities for aging, value to its members, and leadership to the field of aging.
