Staying Home Is Staying Safe, Officials Say, During Brutal Cold Conditions
As extreme cold and dangerous conditions continue to affect North Carolina, residents of Givens Communities remain warm and secure, thanks to preparation and the efforts of our dedicated team members, many of whom remained on the job to ensure each campus stays safe.
Emergency generators have been tested, fuel supplies verified, and safety systems reviewed to ensure seamless operation should a power interruption occur. With no immediate changes in the forecast, we remind everyone to please:

- STAY INSIDE: Avoid being outdoors in our current sub-zero wind chill.
- STAY OFF THE ROADS: The NC State Highway Patrol warns drivers to avoid travel. Highways and especially secondary roads are slick and snow covered.
- TAKE BASIC PRECAUTIONS: Leave a faucet dripping to protect pipes; Dress warm and comfortably even indoors; Stay hydrated to stay healthy!
